As an energy company, in order to ensure a reliable supply even in times of emergency, we are working to build disaster-resistant oil terminals through continuous safety investments and various drills.
We regularly participate in comprehensive disaster response drills. This drill is practical and is designed to allow participants to learn and review the initial response and coordination with related organizations in the event of an earthquake.
Based on the assumption that an oil spill occurred at the pier after an earthquake with a seismic intensity of 6-lower, the drill is held involving fire engines, police vehicles and aircraft, as well as the Nagoya Coast Guard’s patrol boats and Nagoya Port Authority’s environmental survey ships.
The drill includes various practical exercises, such as communication activities to be performed in cooperation with administrative agencies upon issuance of warning information or warning declaration, extension of oil fences, oil spill diffusion treatment, rescue of people who have fallen in the water, and water-spraying using high-altitude water cannon vehicles.
